Its 13 amp, 5200 rpm motor drives its 10-inch blade through two-by-sixes and four-by-fours in one pass. When it's time to tilt, the MS250 makes it quick and easy. The easy-to-read bevel scale has adjustable positive stops for quick settings with a bevel range of negative 3 to plus 48 degrees. Like its relatives in the Shopmaster line, this saw comes with a clear blade guard that retracts at the cut as well as an electric blade brake that stops rotation in seconds. For all its power and features, the MS250's aluminum alloy construction tilts the scale at just 28 pounds.

Another nice feature: a dust bag is included, keeping mess to a minimum in and out of your workshop. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste The blade tilts from -3 to 48 degrees for a variety of bevel cutting operations. The compound action allows easier cutting of crown moldings because the table and blade can be set at the proper angle to keep the molding flat on the table. The aluminum base has a built-in carrying handle in the rear to prevent excess wear and tear on the operating handle. The fence is pre-drilled for easy mounting of wooden auxiliary fences to support taller workpieces. A dust bag is also included for dust collection. DELTA DIFFERENCE Powerful 13 amp.Large, one-piece fence for maximum support of extra-wide materials. Easy-to-read bevel scale with adjustable positive stops for quick tilt settings. Convenient miter indexing mechanism for quick, easy miter settings. Electric blade brake automatically stops blade in seconds. Lubricated-for-life ball bearings assure trouble-free performance with less maintenance Dust bag collects fine dust and woodchips. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Kenton Lee 4.0 out of 5 stars After my big kitchen remodel, I wondered how I ever lived without one. The misconception is that if you don't make miter cuts, you don't need one. Wrong! I used this tool primarily for straight chops and it works flawlessly. It works well on mitered cuts as well. The motor doesn't have the super solid feel, but the rest of the saw was very solid. The tool is a great value and great for light users and beginners. I wish I did, but the price increment is huge.As aspected, I used it little and it served me well. However at about 16 months the cast iron support that limits the saws depth of cut broke.

I was surprised that it had failed with such light use. The nearest factory service was 70 miles away. It took it to them and left it for repair. I called three times to check on it and found the part was backordered at Delta with no ETA. Finally after 3 months it arrived and was repaired. The saw works well now but I have had some trouble with alignment but was able to easily correct it. I am sure at this price it is considered a throwaway saw by Delta but I do appreciate the two year warranty even if they are slow as hell supplying parts. It was perfectly sqaure and aligned right out of the box, much to my surprise. It has a nice portable size and weight which makes it all the more useful. I also like the feel of the handle and power button design. It does not really feel that uncomfortable. Negatively, the bevel lock seems a little loose when adjusting. It feels like the whole upper saw piece could fall off if unscrewed too far. With it being so loose I wonder how long it will take for the saw to go out of alignment. Also as others have noted, the bevel indicator is difficult to read. I am in the process of trimming out a renovated house and this saw has proven up to the task. It is certainly at the right price. It will do framework and cut up to 2X6 or 4x4.SETUP: Blade alignment was acceptable out of the box. Miter stops were accurate but the bevel indicator was off and difficult to adjust. PROs and CONs: This saw has produced nice clean accurate cuts. However, the bevel indictor is difficult to read accurately. It's noticeable less powerful than our contractor's DeWalt saw but for the money it's a good value. You can use a multimeter to test tool and appliance cords and switches, the two parts usually responsible for electri. It also describes information tools available at eReplacementParts.com. It does not brake the blade after cutting. Thank you for your question. The brake is incorporated into the motor.

The brake works by reversing the flow of electricity in the motor when you release the trigger. Over time, the brake can lose its effectiveness as a result of a dirty commutator, a failing armature, or a bad switch. The majority of the time, this problem can be resolved by replacing the motor brushes. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day. They did not replace it with a new part number. I have, since they discontinued the fence tried to locate more fences or a suitable substitute. At this point I haven't had any findings. -WJA You might be able to keep searching on line for one. Or you might try this company link removed, they might have one that will work for you. -WJA So I would expect another week or so until we receive it. And then shipped out to you. -WJA It said it is available at the factory. -WJA The most popular cause for the brake not operating properly is the 899883 switch. If they are both okay then it is going to be the 90513423 field. Unfortunately when you order the field it comes with the armature. At the you might just want to live with out the brake working. -WJA Bob Johnson I removed the motor end cap to examine brush condition. Before I force the brushes out of the housing. I thought I would inquire regarding proper procedure. What is the procedure for brush replacement? Once you have the cover off (and the saw is unplugged) you will see that you will have to pry the metal tab at the end of the brush spring, out of the holder a little bit to remove them. WJA. delta shopmaster miter saw stand manual

I did find a few stands that were cheaper, but they just looked and felt flimsy. I'm just an average home owner with a growing interest in woodworking, so I don't need an industrial grade stand, but the cheaper stands I found looked liked they'd tip over at the slightest push. But then I found the Delta Shopmaster. It had great reviews and a great price, so I decided to try it out. The stand was easy to assemble and I was impressed with how easy it was to attach the saw to the wooden base and then attach that base to the stand. The base just snaps on and there's an adjustable guide on the stand itself that you can set prior to ensure that you get it set in the right position every time. Taking the saw back off is a tad awkward because of its weight and trying to undo the snaps, but once you get used to it, it is not too difficult. The stand itself is sturdy and doesn't wobble. The finish appears neat and clean and the legs swing out wide enough to ensure a good solid support base. The extension arms on both sides are great and each slides into the cross beam of the stand for storage. They lock down and do not seems to slip from where you set them. They also extend long enough for any typical home project I've worked on, but someone who is working extremely long pieces might need an additional stand beyond. The roller and end guard pieces at the end of the extenders also work just fine. They too screw down to hold their location. Because these are fighting gravity and pressure from items being placed on them, they do occasionally slip down a bit, so it's a good idea to make sure they are tight before any project. However, I haven't really had them slip during cutting (the most critical time) and the slippage I have seen is really quite minor.maybe a fraction of an inch - just thought I should mention it.

Donato 5.0 out of 5 stars I have a Hitachi C8FB2 i think it is the only saw out there that has a 3 bolt mounting system - kind of like a triangle. Most other miter stands have 2 very narrow rails to mount the saw on - which is fine for saws with 4 hole mounting systems. however, i had to have a piece of plywood in in between my saw and the mount rails.Buy one now before they are all gone!!!It is shorter allowing the saw to be mounted in the center, utilizing both supports, in close, without readjusting the saw position. When working with a house full of Base and Crown Molding, in a hurry - one setting should fit all - in addition, I use three auxiliary work supports. SUGJESTIONS: If the handle bracket was removed, the stand would provide a natural handle, on top. This would be very handy, esp.Currently; I transport the stand in the vertical position with the arms removed, easily done with the quick release. Caution - if you use the factory handle, the top becomes the bottom, flipping the vulnerable Tee screws to the underside - flip once more before tossing in your truck. I personally, would be happy with the arm adjustment screws in the leg housing. The stand shipped fast and on time.

Shop Fox W1716 Aluma-Classic is the best aftermarket table saw fence you can buy. Read on if you want to know why. If you have ever worked with one, you know how important the fence is in making accurate and safe cuts. We will also review the five best table saw fences on the market right now. DELTA T3 Fence System DELTA T3 Fence System The aluminum components on the fence also lower its overall weight. It includes matching hole patterns for Delta Unisaw, Contractor, Powermatic 66, and the Sears 10-inch saw. The range of tables that this fence will fit should be ideal for those who have inherited an older model or are into refurbishing their power tool equipment. DELTA T3 Fence System The surface is not rough, however, and glides smoothly when positioning and during use. Also known as a Rip fence, this integral component aids the user in achieving accurate cuts by acting as a stop between the fence wall and the blade. A table saw fence also helps with safety, as the fence can be placed closer to the blade than fingers ever should be. Obviously, in the case of someone buying a used or a new table saw, they may discover that it does not come with a fence. Another instance would be to replace a broken or worn out fence that no longer lines up, or locks, properly.

The lower price of this equipment often came at the expense of quality. With power tools, this is often seen in the accessories that come with them, such as the fence on a table saw. A final consideration for upgrades with many users is the features that make the fence stand out from the previous component. The fence is designed to provide a parallel surface to the blade so that you can achieve straight cuts when the wood is placed against it. Please note that you should not use the rip fence and a miter gauge at the same time as this can lead to kickback. Upgrading to a fence that is made from durable material that offers a completely straight profile is a necessity on some products. The upgrade in materials might include the hardware that moves and locks the fence into position. Function and ease of operation are other reasons that table saw owners will look to upgrade their rip fence. Some fences are not large enough to be of practical use with some projects. An upgrade will not only improve performance, but it may also encourage you to use your table saw more often. A fence face that runs parallel to the blade will help to generate the square cuts that you are looking for. There are fences on the market that you can move back and forth or lock with one hand. Unfortunately, there are also products out there that do not move smoothly and will require both hands to move or lock into position. With many fine woodworking projects, you may find yourself needing to make very small adjustments to a piece of wood’s width.Larger letters and numbers will be easier to read. Easy to read print will save you time as you make adjustments to the fence. That is especially true with power tools, including the table saw. Adding feather board attachments to your fence will help keep the wood secure as it is being cut. Make sure that your fence is parallel to the blade and stays in place in order to prevent the wood from binding.

While it does have a more limited 30-inch rip capacity, it should still provide most hobbyists with room for small and medium width cuts they will require for shop jigs and projects. Its cam lever is easy to operate with one hand while still providing a solid grip when it is locked down. Finally, a magnified cursor increases the fence readings, making them easy to see. I spend a good chunk of my time working on wood projects and contributing to this blog. Apart from that, I also enjoy weightlifting and swimming. Which One Cuts The Groove? Kind of bias testing I would say. Now if the headline stated best fence under x but it didn’t state that. The Incra fence is not cheap by any means but best has a higher cost associated with it. There are only so many products I could review in one go. I may add more products to this guide in the future. Personally, I don’t know of anyone in my close environment who uses VSC’s or Incra fences, so I didn’t include these products. Not saying that they are somehow inferior. However the fence was broken durning a recent move. This particular saw has been discontinued by hitachi, and the rip fence is unavailable anywhere I can find online. I’m not wanting to buy a completely new saw, but need a fence that fits. Any advice? I’m afraid I cannot help you with this. You should contact Metabo support regarding this.

WJA.
